Arnetta Mayjo Clark Armstead, 91, of Henderson, departed this life at 7:12 p.m. on Thursday March 7, 2024 at Lucy Smith King Care Center in Henderson with her family by her side.
A native of Robards, Kentucky, she was born to the late Hugh Allen Clark and Lottie Johnson Clark on June 5, 1932.
She had worked at Henderson Community College for many years and was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, making ceramics, and working in her flowers. Most of all she enjoyed being around her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by the love of her life J.D. Armstead; two sons Timothy Wayne Armstead and Kenneth Terrell Armstead; and by her sister Iola Armstead.
She leaves behind to cherish her loving memories two sons Kevin (Bonita) Armstead and Kimball Armstead both of Henderson; four daughters Sandra Robertson, Debra Armstead, Sharon Armstead (who was her caregiver for many years), and Sherry (Tracey) Key all of Henderson; 16 grandchildren (two of whom she raised as her own children Janon "Knockie" Armstead and Kenneth "Kenny" Armstead); 25 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and a special friend, Odessa Powell.
Her life will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. Friday March 15, 2024 at Seventh Street Missionary Baptist Church in Henderson.
The Reverend R.T. Hill will officiate. Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery in Henderson.
Visitation and wake services will be from 10:00 a.m. until the service time Friday at the church.
